STAR: Setting Targets - Achieving Results

In the Fall of 2005, IPRO's Nursing Home Quality Initiative (NHQI) Performance Improvement Coordinators (PICs) provided statewide STAR (Setting Targets-Achieving Results) training workshops. All nursing homes in New York State were invited to attend one of the regional workshops, meet the IPRO staff, and be introduced to STAR. The workshops were an opportunity for nursing home staff to become familiar with and learn how to navigate the STAR Web site, view facility-specific Quality Measure (QM) rates, set targets for improvement for the high risk pressure ulcer, chronic pain, restraint, and depression clinical measures, and learn how to track and trend progress toward achieving their targets for improvement.
