8 SOW NHQI IPG Kickoff

In the Winter of 2006, IPRO sponsored statewide regional meetings to "Kickoff" the CMS Nursing Home Quality Initiative (NHQI) 8th Scope of Work SOW). IPRO's Quality Improvement Coordinator(QIC)team along with the dedicated group of identified participant nursing homes (IPG) gathered to discuss the focus of the 8SOW, clinical topic areas, quality improvement(QI) strategies, and continuous quality improvement(CQI)philosophy.

The IPG Nursing Homes were introduced to significant QI trending data sets and tools, and how the materials and resources can be used to measure successful outcomes. The QI sources include:

IPRO developed PU data tracking tool and falls tracking tool

The statewide regional collaborative meetings are ongoing throughout the 8SOW. The meetings lend opportunity to learn from one another, to assess and enhance current systems and clinical processes of cares, to share QI challanges, barriers, successful interventions, and to engage in groupwide QI practice.
