Current Issue: #3: Spring 2008 IPRO's Hospital Compliance Program was created to monitor the compliance of New York's 120 teaching hospitals with state regulated resident working hour requirements. New York's teaching hospitals provide training to an estimated 25% of all post-graduate physicians in the United States.
IPRO assesses compliance through the investigation of complaints in conjunction with facility follow-up/monitoring visits. Compliance assessments are conducted pursuant to state rules and regulations governing the working hours and conditions of post-graduate trainees in teaching hospitals.
In support of hospital improvement efforts, IPRO develops and delivers training programs to attending physicians, program directors, residents, resident associations and specific hospital departments on the hospital regulations, problem prevention and best practices.
Resident Times Newsletter provides the Graduate Medical Education Community with updated information pertaining to resident work hours and patient safety.
