Please find enclosed a revised version of the pneumonia physician pocket-card reference, Management of Community Acquired Pneumonia - Spring 2004. This version replaces the edition produced and distributed in January 2004. This new edition incorporates the updated practice guidelines for the management of community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), as published by the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) in December 2003.
It is our hope that the pocket-card will assist your hospital in achieving the goal of administering appropriate antibiotics to patients with community-acquired pneumonia within the first 4 hours of hospital arrival. Please distribute the cards to hospital staff that treat CAP patients.
