IPRO is committed to the continued improvement of medical care in New York State. To support our efforts, we wish to gather information from acute care hospitals in an attempt to learn and determine how we can best assist you in the development and/or refinement of your quality improvement efforts.
We therefore request that you share with us your quality improvement plans (QIPs) for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) 7th Scope of Work (SOW) clinical topics of Acute Myocardial Infarction, Community Acquired Pneumonia, Congestive Heart Failure and Surgical Infection Prevention. Your plans may include clinical pathways, standing orders and/or educational materials. We would also appreciate a brief description of any lessons learned and/or barriers that were encountered during development and implementation of your plans.
In addition to submitting your QIPs, we have enclosed a brief questionnaire that we request you complete as well. We appreciate your sharing this information, as your remarks and comments will better enable IPRO to help hospitals surmount obstacles that impede achievement of our common goals.
Please return your quality improvement plans and your completed questionnaire to the attention of Marguerite Shaffer by October 20, 2003. IPRO will review your plans, responses and comments and provide feedback within fifteen (15) working days from the receipt of your response.
