SUBJECT: Nursing Home Conference Calls
IPRO CONTACTS:
Pauline Kinney, R.N., L.N.H.A., Assistant Director, extension 402
Patricia Gagliano, M.D., Clinical Coordinator, extension 547
As part of IPRO's role in supporting the implementation of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' (CMS) Nursing Home Quality Initiative (NHQI), IPRO is hosting a series of conference calls for interested nursing home staff as follow-up to the recently completed New York State regional educational conferences and in anticipation of the public reporting of quality measure data by CMS. The purpose of these conference calls is to address any additional questions regarding the quality measures as well as the role of IPRO in assisting nursing homes to improve their quality measure performance.
IPRO is sponsoring the conference calls, and will be joined by representatives from the following associations: Greater New York Hospital Association, Healthcare Association of New York State, New York State Health Facilities Association, New York Association of Homes & Services for the Aging. The one-hour calls will be organized in question and answer format.
Nursing homes should have received a preview of their quality measure data on October 14. Any facilities experiencing technical difficulties with accessing their data or with specific individual concerns regarding the accuracy of their Quality Measure data should contact the Nursing Home Quality Initiative Preview Help Desk at 1-888-676-0724. These conference calls are not intended to address technical difficulties or specific data accuracy concerns. Those concerns and inquiries should be directed to the NHQI Help Desk during the preview period (October 14-22, 2002).
IPRO would like to invite you and your staff to participate in one of the scheduled calls. If you are interested in participating, please indicate the date/time preference on the enclosed fax-back form or resgister online. Due to the anticipated volume of the calls, please utilize only one line per facility.
We look forward to your participation. Should you have any questions regarding this memorandum or the upcoming conference calls, please feel free to contact Pauline Kinney at extension, 402 or Patricia Gagliano, MD at extension 547.
