IPRO is hosting a morning seminar for provider executives, business leaders and consumer experts outlining a program under which hospitals from across the state are voluntarily participating in a clinical data collection effort that will result in a landmark public reporting activity.

The New York State Hospital Public Reporting Pilot is a special initiative of the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in which Quality Improvement Organizations in New York, Arizona and Maryland are testing public reporting of hospital performance using ten inpatient measures addressing the management of heart failure, AMI and pneumonia. Additional quality measures are also scheduled for testing.

So far, more than 80 hospitals across New York have agreed to participate in the pilot, which has been endorsed by the Healthcare Association of New York State and the Greater New York Hospital Association. Current plans call for CMS to post initial performance findings on its website.

Register for the conference online at www.ipro.org or call 516-326-7767 x588.
