8th Scope of Work Identified Participant Rollout

In the Fall of 2005, IPRO sponsored statewide regional meetings to launch the Nursing Home Quality Initiative (NHQI) 8th Scope of Work (SOW) activities. Members of the IPRO NHQI team introduced themselves to representatives of the identified participant (IP) nursing homes who will be working with IPRO over the next three years. We reviewed the expanded NHQI and expectations regarding clinical performance, setting improvement targets, and measuring the nursing home experience.

The statewide introduction to the 8th SOW included regional workshops on Setting Targets, Achieving Results (STAR). Computer work stations and 1:1 technical support allowed nursing home staff members to visit the STAR Web site, access their facility-specific targets for improvement for the high risk pressure ulcer, chronic pain, pressure ulcer and depression Quality Measures (QMs), and track and trend quality improvement efforts and progress toward reaching the targeted goal.

Additional information and materials pertaining to the 8th SOW are available on this Web site under "8th SOW Topics." If you have any questions, please contact Pauline Kinney, Director of NHQI, at 516-209-5402 or pkinney@nyqio.sdps.org.
